Who we are

Katafot ("we", "us") is an iPhone app that speaks your ride metrics — speed, cadence, average speed, and heart rate — aloud while you cycle. This policy covers both the Katafot app and this website, katafot.com. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@katafot.com.

Data we collect

None. Katafot does not require an account, does not use analytics or tracking SDKs, does not show ads, and does not transmit your personal information or ride data to us or to anyone else.

How the app uses your data on-device

To do its job, Katafot reads certain data on your iPhone. All of it is processed locally and stays on your device:

• Location (GPS) — used to calculate your current and average speed during a ride. Your location is never uploaded or shared.
• Bluetooth — used to connect to your heart-rate and cadence sensors. Sensor readings are received directly by your phone and go nowhere else.
• Heart rate and cadence — read from your paired sensors solely to announce them to you during your ride.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings. The app will keep working with whatever data remains available to it.

This website

This site is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Two things worth knowing:

• Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and request time) to operate the service securely. We don't use these to identify visitors.
• The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads. That request is subject to Google's privacy policy.

If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you write to us. We use it only to reply, and we never share it or add you to any list without your consent.

Third parties

We don't sell, rent, or share any data with third parties — we have nothing to share. The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple may collect standard install and crash data under Apple's privacy policy; we don't receive anything that identifies you from it.

Children

Katafot is not directed at children under 13, and since we collect no data at all, we knowingly hold no data about anyone of any age.

Changes to this policy

If Katafot ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if we add an optional feature that syncs data — we'll update this policy first and note the change here before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
